The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, wished, Tuesday in Kigali, the best for Morocco which announced its candidacy, jointly with Spain and Portugal, to host the 2030 World Cup in soccer.
Motsepe expressed his joy at seeing Morocco present its candidacy for the 2030 World Cup, in a statement on the sidelines of the CAF President’s Outstanding Achievement Award-2022 award ceremony. , awarded to King Mohammed VI and Rwandan President Paul Kagame. On behalf of the 54 African countries, the President expressed his gratitude to the King for His role in the development of Football in Morocco, which has greatly contributed to the influence of this sporting discipline beyond the Kingdom.
For Motsepe, the award received by the King is also recognition for many Heads of State and Government who work together for the development of football on the African continent.
King Mohammed VI announced the joint candidacy of Morocco, with Spain and Portugal, to host the 2030 World Cup, in a message on the occasion of the presentation of the Award of Excellence of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the year 2022 (CAF President’s Outstanding Achievement Award-2022).
This common candidacy, unprecedented in the history of football, will be that of the junction between Africa and Europe, between the north and the south of the Mediterranean, and between the African, Arab and Euro-Mediterranean worlds, noted the Sovereign.
The Sovereign also specified that this candidacy will be that of gathering around the best on both sides, and the demonstration of an alliance of genius, creativity, experience and means.
