At the Mokhtar Jazouli primary school in Rabat, the director of the Regional Academy of Education and Training of the region (AREF) Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, Mohamed Aderdour, kicked off the program of educational work which will be carried out by students in education license courses for the benefit of public education establishments in the region, accompanied by the provincial director under the Ministry of National Education.
This program comes in application of the commitments contained in the framework agreement relating to the implementation of a training program for primary and secondary school teachers by 2025, concluded on June 13, 2022 between the Ministry of Education Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, the Ministry of National Education, Primary Education and Sports and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and includes the allocation of a budgetary envelope of more than 4 billion dirhams over five years and the design of a new training architecture spread over a period of 5 years, specifies the AREF of Rabat in a press release.
Thus, this program is betting on strengthening the attractiveness of bachelor’s degree courses in education by offering students legally registered in these courses, and who continue their studies on a regular basis in one of the university establishments located in the territorial influence of the region, the opportunity to have professional contacts but also to benefit from an applied and practical training which allows them to adopt an effective pedagogy which pays particular attention to the pupils.
This program, continues the same source, will allow undergraduate students to familiarize themselves with the mechanisms for managing the infrastructures of the educational establishment, while the latter will benefit for their part from the realization by the students of educational work such as school and pedagogical support, participation in the organization and revitalization of school life and other work.
At the level of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region, this program will benefit a total of 4,461 undergraduate students in education, spread over the Mohammed V University of Rabat (1,074 students from the Faculty of Education Sciences, 1,478 students belong to the Ecole Normale Supérieure), indicates the AREF of Rabat.
As for the Ibn Tofail University of Kenitra, 1,909 students will benefit from the program at the Higher School of Education and Training, continues the same source, and where they will be distributed in a total of 850 educational establishments under the management. province of the region.
In addition to the supervision in the field, which will help to strengthen the professional capacities of the beneficiaries of this program, a net monthly allowance of one thousand dirhams (1,000 Dh) has been allocated to students for a period of ten months each academic year, in exchange weekly lessons of 4 hours which must be carried out within educational establishments in compliance with educational controls and official educational references.
