FIFA has just revealed the names of the three finalists for “The Best” Trophy for the best goalkeeper of the year 2022, including Atlas Lions goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
Bounou, member of Sevilla FC, will be in the race with the Belgian goalkeeper of Real Madrid, Thibaut Courtois and the Argentinian of Aston Villa, Emiliano Martínez.
Note that The Best rewards goalkeepers who have achieved the best performance between August 8, 2021 and December 18, 2022.
Five players were nominated for The Best – FIFA Goalkeeper award after selection by a panel of experts. From this list, the three finalists were chosen by an international jury made up of men’s national team coaches, men’s national team captains, football journalists and supporters who voted on the FIFA website.
The name of the winner will be announced during the ceremony on February 27, 2023, in Paris.
