Regional accounting: The HCP shares its experience with a Senegalese and Ivorian delegation

The High Commission for Planning (HCP) received, from February 6 to 10, 2023, on a study visit, a delegation composed of officials from the National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) of Senegal and the National Institute of Statistics (INS) of Côte d’Ivoire on the theme of regional accounts.

This sharing of experience and good statistical practices with partner countries is part of the HCP’s policy of openness to its African environment, indicates a press release from the HCP.

During this study visit, facilitated by the Regional Technical Assistance Center for Central Africa (AFRITAC) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), working sessions focused in particular on the methodological practices of preparing accounts regions by branch of economic activity.

The visit was also an opportunity for the delegation to learn about the dynamics experienced by the regional statistical system through the experience of Casablanca-Settat, and in particular, the deployment of regional databases and the reporting process in regarding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The parties expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the exchanges maintained within the framework of this visit and aim to strengthen them on other topics relating to methodological innovations in the field of National Accounts, the press release concludes.
