U.S. electric car maker Tesla has recalled 362,758 vehicles in the U.S. over an issue with self-driving software (FSD beta) that could cause crashes, the U.S. Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said. ).
The faulty software can cause crashes by allowing a vehicle to exceed speed limits and cross intersections illegally or unpredictably, NHTSA said.
The system may also not react sufficiently to changes in the limits displayed.
Tesla recalled nearly 54,000 vehicles in the United States in 2022 for another problem related to FSD Beta software.
NHTSA stresses that beta FSD Assisted Driving features do not make cars self-driving and require drivers to be ready to respond at all times.
