"Officine Expo", a showcase of the national pharmaceutical industry

The 20th edition of Officine Expo was a great showcase for the national pharmaceutical industry, said Saturday in Marrakech, Layla Sentissi, executive director of the Moroccan Federation of Pharmaceutical Industry and Innovation (FMIIP).

“This show, which is now becoming an unmissable event in the world of pharmacy, is a very good showcase for our pharmaceutical industry (medicines, food supplements, cosmetics, etc.), underlined Sentissi on the sidelines of the work of this 20th edition of Officine Expo, held under the theme “the pharmacist at the heart of innovation and interdisciplinarity around the patient”.

Layla Sentissi, also a member of the scientific committee for this edition, noted that this benchmark event for South Mediterranean and African pharmacy, which was attended by 5,000 pharmacists and health professionals from 24 countries, “offered a very great platform for exchange and constituted a very friendly moment of meeting between operators and their partners, but also between managers, academics and researchers”.

“This diversification has created a very interesting ecosystem for all the stakeholders in this interdisciplinary field, who have come to attend high-level conferences”, she said with satisfaction, indicating that the Show highlighted the construction site of the overhaul of the national health system, in particular the role of the pharmacist to support this large-scale project.

“We are partners with the supervisory ministry, which accompanies us at the regulatory level and we support it to ensure the success of this project”, she underlined, calling for the mobilization and the federation of the efforts of all the stakeholders to ensure the success of this project.

She also noted that the Fair has helped to further consolidate cooperation ties between African pharmaceutical operators, expressing the willingness of Moroccan operators to share their experience with their colleagues on the continent.

On the sidelines of the two-day Fair, the 6th edition of “Pharma Africa Meeting” was organized, marked by the presence of government officials and leading experts who discussed the promotion of “One Health, One World” and the development of South-South cooperation in the promotion of quality medicines.

“Officine Expo 2023” also hosted the 2nd edition of the E-Health Innovation Village with the participation of 12 Moroccan, African and European startups, with the support of the largest health incubators on the most promising “Made in Africa” projects.
