Morocco has the best chances of organizing CAN 2025

The Egyptian Middle East News Agency (MENA) wrote that Morocco has the greatest chance of winning the honor of hosting the African Cup of Nations football (AFCON 2025), given the magnificent stadiums and the impressive infrastructures available to the Kingdom.

The agency points out that Morocco has filed a distinguished file with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to host the CAN for the second time in its history, knowing that the Kingdom is in competition with Algeria, Nigeria, Benin and Zambia to organize the most important competition on the continent.

The same source continues that 35 years after Morocco last hosted the African Cup of Nations, the Kingdom is currently working to host the 2025 version of the competition, recalling that Morocco hosted this cup a only once in 1988.

The agency indicated that CAF is preparing to announce the name of the country that will host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations soon, noting that the 2025 edition was to be held in Guinea, but CAF has decided to withdraw the name. organization to this country due to the delay in preparations.

MENA adds that in addition to the stadiums of Tangier and Prince Moulay Abdellah de Rabat, which currently host matches for the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup, the Moroccan dossier includes more than one stadium equipped to host the FIFA Club World Cup. Africa of Nations 2025.

And to continue that the Grand Stade de Marrakech located in the famous Ocher City is one of the most important stadiums in Morocco equipped to host the competition, as it can accommodate 45,000 spectators, and it is the fourth largest stadium in Morocco. , recalling that this stadium was inaugurated in January 2011.

The agency specifies that in the Moroccan file for the organization of the African Cup of Nations there is also the great stadium of Agadir, famous for the “Adrar” stadium, which is one of the most important stadiums of the Kingdom, and has a capacity of 45,000 seats, of which 10,000 seats are covered.

Opened in November 2013, the Grand Stade d’Agadir hosted the matches of the Club World Cup in 2013, the CHAN matches, and it is also the stadium of the Hassania d’Agadir team.

The agency notes that the Moroccan file to host CAN 2025 also includes the Grand Stade de Fès which was designed according to authentic Moroccan architecture, and which can accommodate nearly 40,000 spectators.
