The Moroccan international, Bilal El Khannouss, has decided to extend his adventure with Racing Genk, which occupies the head of the Belgian football Pro League. Genk announced on Monday that it has secured the services of the Atlas Lion until 2027.
Bilal El Khannouss, 18, has come to the public eye in recent months in the midfield of Racing Genk. The young midfielder has played 25 games with the Limburgers this season and distilled three assists in all competitions.
Quoted in a club press release, the young footballer felt that “this new contract confirms what I have felt for a long time. The club has huge confidence in me and that’s what I need right now.”
“I have often seen other young people skip steps in their careers. I absolutely want to avoid this. With this new contract, I can focus 100% on football with KRC Genk. I want to win trophies here and I hope to leave through the front door one day, ”he assured.
According to the club’s sporting director, Dimitri De Condé, “there is no better place for Bilal at the moment than at home. He is well surrounded here and he has every chance of developing his exceptional talent at the right pace, without cutting corners. He also believes in the project that we want to pursue with him in the years to come”.
Two weeks ago, El Kannouss was voted Hope of the Year at the Gala of the 69th Golden Boot Gala, which rewards the best players playing in the Belgian football championship.
As a reminder, El Khannouss had been summoned by the national coach, Walid Regragui to appear in the list of 26 selected for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
