As part of the efforts made by the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy for the promotion of Moroccan handicrafts, the Maison de l’Artisan takes part in the “Ambiente” fair which opened its gates on February 3, 2023 in Frankfurt Germany.
This participation is part of the strong dynamic experienced by the handicraft sector, reinforced in particular by the excellent performance of exports of Moroccan handicraft products which in 2022 crossed the record bar of one billion dirhams, thus marking a growth of 12% compared to 2021 and 26% compared to 2019, indicates the ministry.
A reference event on an international scale, the “Ambiente” show brought together this year more than 4,500 exhibitors from 80 countries and nearly 150,000 visitors from all over the world. A place for commercial exchanges and meetings with operators, buyers and professionals in the decoration and design sector, it is an essential platform for forging partnerships, prospecting new markets and offering new business opportunities.
This show, laid out over more than 320,000 m², is organized around large exhibition areas, namely the DINING segment, devoted to tableware and reinforced this year by the HoReCa/Hospitality area, aimed at professionals in the hotel and catering industry, the LIVING segment exposing interior design and furnishing trends and the GIVING segment dedicated to accessories and gifts.
The WORKING segment, for its part, is dedicated to international suppliers of furniture, equipment and office supplies. For the first time, it completes the offer offered by the Show. So many universes where the authentic and refined creations of the Moroccan Artisan will find their place.
For the 2023 edition of Ambiente, Moroccan craftsmanship is represented by seven companies operating in the sectors of furniture, glassware, decorative accessories, weaving and basketry.

– Bronze Verre: manufacture of handcrafted glass objects – Casablanca
– Laure Welfling International: specialized in weaving – Tangier
– Medidis: Furniture and decoration products – Kénitra
– Opalescence: manufacture of decorative items – Casablanca
On the sidelines of this participation, the delegation of the Maison de l’Artisan and the Moroccan Embassy in Germany held several prospecting meetings in order to strengthen the presence of Moroccan craftsmanship on the German market, in particular with the managers of the German Design Council, Messe Frankfurt as well as several German operators wishing to import Moroccan handicraft products.
