Heritage, values and passion at the opening ceremony

The Football Club World Cup opened on Wednesday in Tangier, to the rhythm of a breathtaking and colorful spectacle, highlighting a diversified, ancestral, modern, open, hospitable and football-loving Morocco.

The public of this edition, organized from February 1 to 11 in Tangier and Rabat, was amazed by a series of choreographies, songs and music and images establishing a link between the past and the present and highlighting all the beauty of Moroccan nature, architecture and hospitality.

Among the highlights of this evening, we will retain the very rhythmic folkloric show, with a touch of modernity, which led the spectators on a fascinating journey through different regions of Morocco.

The passion for football was strongly highlighted, with a return in images to the scenes of jubilation of the Moroccan public in reaction to the performance of the Atlas Lions during the last World Cup in Qatar.

The highlight of this moment of nostalgia was the appearance on stage of national coach Walid Regragui, the surprise guest of this evening, warmly welcomed by the public.

The occasion could not pass without paying a posthumous tribute to the legend Pelé, who died at the end of 2022.

Morocco is organizing the Mondialito for the third time, after the 2013 edition which saw Raja de Casablanca reach the final (2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich) and that of 2014, which saw the participation of Moghreb de Tetouan, in as champion of Morocco.
