The government approves the 9th tranche of support

Once again, the government has approved a 9th installment of the exceptional support intended for transport professionals, as part of the measures taken by the government to preserve the purchasing power of citizens in view of the conditions characterized by the increase in the price of fuels. This was revealed by an official source to MoroccoLatestNews.

This ninth tranche of support, which comes from taxpayers’ money, and which will be paid for the benefit of professionals in the transport sector, will not experience any increase, and its value will not differ from the amounts that were disbursed during the eighth tranche. , said the same source.

It is expected that the Ministry of Transport and Logistics will announce the registration process to take advantage of the additional exceptional support, which transport professionals consider an insufficient subsidy, given that it was first announced in a context where the price of diesel did not exceed 12 dirhams, whereas it currently stands at 14 dirhams per litre.

For its part, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics has completed the drafting of a bill relating to the comparison of road transport prices with fuel prices, a request raised by professional associations for many years.

A few days ago, the professional associations received a draft of the project in order to formulate observations on the horizon of presenting it to the General Secretariat of the Government (SGG), for its approval in the Council of Government, then its submission to Parliament. approval.

According to this bill, the price of road transport will be revised within the framework of transport contracts concluded throughout the national territory, taking into account the evolution of fuel costs if they exceed 5% in absolute value.

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics will determine and publish monthly a reference price for the price of diesel, which will be used when signing transport contracts, provided that for each type of vehicle, the share of fuel costs in percentage of the total transport price is published.
