The Arab League approves three Moroccan initiatives to celebrate the Year of Arab Youth

The Youth Committee under the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports approved, Monday during a meeting at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo, three initiatives presented by Morocco within the framework of activities and programs planned in the Kingdom to celebrate the Arab Youth Year 2023, initiated by the Arab League.

These initiatives should be submitted to the next meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports, which will be held on January 18 in Saudi Arabia.

The first initiative concerns the holding, next March, of training for the benefit of Arab youth in the field of democracy and human rights in Marrakech, with the aim of strengthening the capacities of young people in the field of rights of children, youth and women, improve their advocacy techniques and promote a culture of dialogue and non-violence.

The second initiative consists in organizing, next June in Rabat, study days on the digital platform of Arab youth.

These study days aim to exchange on the perspectives available to young people and the opportunities for innovation, as they aspire to create a digital platform that includes various studies and reports on Arab youth.

As for the third initiative, it relates to the organization next December in Tetouan, of training in the field of volunteering and civic participation.

This training session aims to share the best experiences between Arab countries in the field of volunteering, to ensure the training of groups of young people in the field of volunteering, as well as to create an Arab network to coordinate between the institutions active in this domain.

During this meeting, which was marked by the presentation of the vision, plans and general strategy of the Year of Arab Youth 2023, Morocco was represented by the head of the Youth Department within the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, Abdelmajid Sanih, and Deputy Permanent Representative of Morocco to the Arab League, Hicham Ould Sallay.

The Arab Youth Year initiative aims to prepare a generation of young leaders capable of building a better future for the Arab world. This involves presenting studies and surveys, organizing forums and events throughout the year and exchanging experiences with a view to establishing a common agenda that reflects the aspirations and concerns of Arab youth.
