Skhirat: Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency celebrates its silver jubilee

The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency launched, Friday evening in Skhirat, the celebrations marking its silver jubilee, in the presence in particular of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Agency’s supervisory committee, Nasser Bourita, as well as ambassadors and diplomats from several countries and eminent personalities.

Initiated under the sign “new start to consolidate the position of Al-Quds and its religious and civilizational status”, this silver jubilee “offers the opportunity to celebrate 25 years of activities of the Agency and to pay tribute to the memory of the late Hassan II, of the late King Hussein Bin Talal of Jordan, whose country oversees the Islamic and Christian sacred places in Al-Quds Acharif, and of the late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat”, underlined the director in charge of the Agency management, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui.

The event is also an opportunity to assess the Agency’s record over the past 25 years, but also to look to the future, with hope and ambition, to transcend the obstacles hindering the achievement of all the objectives. of the Agency to support the Holy City and its institutions, leading the issue of funding, he added.

For his part, the Ambassador of Palestine to Morocco, Jamal Choubki, indicated that the creation of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency is one of the manifestations of this joint action, in particular in the light of the tangible achievements that the Agency has accumulated during its 25 years of activities in order to achieve the objectives for which it was created, namely the protection of Al-Quds and its civilizational, historical and religious status, and the improvement living conditions of its population.

It should be noted that the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, since its creation under the reign of the late Hassan II, and today under the reign of King Mohammed VI, has decided to support the Holy City with a wide range of development having targeted vital sectors for the life of the Maqdessis such as health, education, housing, culture, sports, arts and crafts.

Humanitarian projects have also been implemented throughout these years by the Agency with a view to reducing poverty in the Holy City, for an overall investment of 64 million dollars, the large part of which has been allocated by Morocco. .

In respect, the Palestinian diplomat expressed his deep gratitude to the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency for its continuous efforts and tireless action and to the Kingdom of Morocco, King, Government and People, for the support of the city of Al-Quds.

As a reminder, the celebrations on the occasion of the silver jubilee of the agency were marked on Friday by the screening of a video on its efforts in 25 years of existence as well as by an artistic evening and an exhibition of photographs highlighting highlights facets of Palestinian culture.
