Six bilateral cooperation agreements covering many areas were signed, Thursday in Manama, between the Kingdoms of Bahrain and Morocco, on the occasion of the holding of the fifth session of the High Joint Commission, chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs , African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
The first agreement relates to a memorandum of understanding concerning industrial cooperation, and aims to develop industrial cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of industrial policy, industrial reception structures, specifications, promotion of quality and industrial and commercial property.
The agreement encompasses the exchange of experience and expertise in the field of industrial policy planning and implementation, the sharing of experiences and good practices between the public and private sectors, the encouragement cooperation between training institutes and capacity building to encourage the transfer of knowledge and expertise in the industrial field.
As for the second agreement, it relates to a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of standardization and marks of conformity to normative specifications.
Within the framework of this memorandum, the two parties encourage common action, consultations and the exchange of information and experiences acquired between them in the fields of standardization and conformity marks through the exchange and unification of the normative specifications in force in the two countries, on the basis of Arab and international standards, and the harmonization of the standards in force in the two countries.
The memorandum aims to remove technical barriers to trade and to encourage economic players from each country to participate in standardization activities in the other country.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed in the field of trade cooperation, aimed at establishing an appropriate framework to increase and diversify the volume of trade between the two parties in accordance with the laws and regulations in force in the two countries.
The memorandum will be implemented through the design and execution of effective programs, strengthening cooperation between the private sector by encouraging the business communities of the two countries to establish business partnerships, supporting the creation of a joint business council and the strengthening of cooperation between the chambers of commerce, agriculture, industry, services and trade development agencies of the two countries.
The fourth agreement relates to a memorandum of understanding in the field of consumer protection, which aims to set the general framework for cooperation and coordination between the two parties in the field of consumer protection, through the exchange of consumer laws in both countries.
According to the agreement, joint training programs will be developed for the benefit of consumers, and communication channels will be established between the civil society structures of the two countries, in addition to the exchange of data on the most important imported products. which are seized and which constitute a threat to the health of the consumer.
As for the fifth agreement, it concerns an executive program of a memorandum of understanding in the field of crafts.
This executive program aims to strengthen cooperation through the revitalization and enhancement of handicraft products and the social and solidarity economy, the exchange of experiences and know-how, and the development of the partnership between the two countries. in the area of craftsman training.
The last agreement relates to an executive program for the cooperation agreement in the field of Habous and Islamic affairs for the years 2023-2024.
This program aims to exchange expertise and experiences, as well as to bring closer the positions of the two countries during conferences and official meetings, and to work on the exchange of ideas and information concerning the means of dealing with the ideas of extremism and intolerance, and work to promote and spread the values of tolerance by showing the radiant image of Islam abroad.
