Scandals are not unique to Moroccan universities

The higher education sector in Morocco has experienced many issues that remain unresolved. To answer this, MoroccoLatestNews conducted an exclusive interview with the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Abdellatif Miraoui.

During this meeting, the minister discussed various topics, in particular the situation of students returning from Ukraine and the reduction in the duration of medical training. Regarding the situation of doctoral students and doctors, the Minister explained that having a doctorate does not mean finding a job. “On does not do social in recruitment“, he explained.

We also discussed the achievements of the ministry and the various components of the ESRI Pact which could allow “the creation of more than 100,000 jobs by 2026”.

As for the controversies of cheating, sex for note, lack of transparency during competitions, the minister stressed that they do not represent ” the own of the Moroccan university“, noting that ” cases of sexual or moral harassment exist in all universities in the world“.

Concerning the situation of students abroad, the ministry intends to set up commissions in the universities of countries such as Ukraine, Hungary or Romania in order to evaluate the programs and facilitate the process of equivalence during the return to Morocco.
