First meeting of the Morocco-Israel Defense Cooperation Monitoring Committee

In accordance with the high instructions of the King, Supreme Chief and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, the first meeting of the Moroccan-Israeli Defense Cooperation Monitoring Committee was held on January 16 and 17, 2023 at the Cercle Mess Rabat officers.

A press release from the General Staff of the FAR indicates that this meeting, co-chaired by the General of the Army, Inspector General of the FAR and the Director of the Office of Politico-Military Affairs of the Ministry of Defense of Israel, Dror Shalom, reviewed the various areas of bilateral military cooperation, including logistics, education and training as well as the acquisition and modernization of equipment.

While welcoming the level of bilateral military cooperation, the two officials agreed to further strengthen this cooperation and expand it to other areas, including Intelligence, Air Defense and Electronic Warfare, the statement said. noting that on this occasion, the Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone described the Moroccan-Israeli military cooperation as “carrying mutual interests and based on trust and mutual support”.

On the sidelines of this meeting, interviews between Moroccan and Israeli officials, civilians and soldiers, also took place at the level of the relevant bodies of the General Staff of the FAR.

The conclusions of the work of the first meeting of the Moroccan-Israeli Defense Cooperation Monitoring Committee were presented and adopted on January 17, 2023 by both parties.
