Death of Pelé: Tributes multiply

King Pelé died on Thursday at the age of 82. After the announcement of his death, tributes multiplied. Most moving came from his compatriot, Neymar Jr, who claimed that “before Pelé, 10 was just a number”.

“I read this sentence somewhere, at some point in my life. But this sentence, beautiful, is incomplete. I would say before Pelé football was just a sport. Pelé changed everything.
He turned football into art, into entertainment. He gave voice to the poor, to blacks and above all, gave visibility to Brazil.
Football and Brazil have raised their status thanks to the king! He’s gone but his magic remains.
Pelé is FOREVER!! »he wrote on his Instagram page.

For his part, the French star, Kylian Mbappé, wrote: “ The king of football has left us, but his legacy will never be forgotten.”

For his part, the Argentinian, world champion, Lionel Messi, was satisfied with a ” Rest in peace, @pelé”.

Another football legend, Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo will write: “A simple ‘goodbye’ to the eternal King Pelé will never be enough to express the pain that the entire football world is currently feeling. An inspiration for so many millions, a reference yesterday, today and forever. The love you always showed me was reciprocated in every moment we shared, even from a distance. He will never be forgotten and his memory will live on forever in all of us football lovers. Rest in peace King Pelé”.
