benefits increase to 25.3 billion dirhams in 2022

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, said on Wednesday in Casablanca that the general scheme of the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) experienced, in 2022, the increase in benefits to reach 25.3 billion dirhams (MMDH).

The Minister, who chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors (CA) of the CNSS for its December 2022 session, spoke of the achievements in relation to this scheme, including the increase in the number of employees declared to the Caisse to 3 6 million and the doubling of the number of employees whose situation has been regularized following control and inspection operations to reach approximately 50,000 employees in 2022.

Regarding the basic Compulsory Health Insurance (AMO) Scheme, the Minister noted the increase in the number of beneficiaries to more than 9.8 million and contributions due to 9.2 billion dirhams, as well as the improvement in the processing and reimbursement of files, the average time for which does not exceed 8 days for policyholders and 14 days for healthcare providers.

And to emphasize that these positive indicators for the year 2022 testify to the efficiency in the management of the General Scheme and the basic Compulsory Health Insurance (AMO) Scheme for the benefit of employees in the private sector.

This CA session was also an opportunity for Nadia Fettah to highlight the major role played by all CNSS players in guaranteeing the success of the Royal strategic project to generalize social protection through the acceleration of the implementation of the legislative and regulatory mechanism linked to this project which made it possible to “universalize” compulsory basic health insurance within the time limits set.

She recalled, in this context, the efforts made by the Fund to support the increase in the total number of its policyholders, which rose, during the year 2022, from 7.8 million individuals to more than 23.2 million citizens, with the integration of 3.68 million non-salaried workers and dependents and the 9.4 million beneficiaries of the compulsory basic health insurance scheme for the benefit of people unable to pay the cost of contributions.

To succeed in this project, Nadia Fettah noted the creation of more than 1,400 additional positions within the Caisse, the conclusion of partnerships with local establishments, the opening of 47 new agencies for proximity, the launch of 45 mobile agencies , the creation of 8,000 contact centers to register self-employed workers and 2,000 contact points to receive AMO files, while ensuring the provision of services through a set of modernized electronic platforms and applications.

The agenda for this meeting, held in the presence of the Director General of the CNSS, Hassan Boubrik, focused on a number of points including the approval of the action plan and the budget of the Fund under the year 2023, the reform program of its medical units and the digital transformation project considered as a fundamental lever for improving the performance and services provided by the Fund.
