AMO: 14 therapeutic protocols approved

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection (MSPS) organized a workshop on Friday for the presentation, discussion and approval of 14 therapeutic protocols developed within the framework of a national convention bringing together the National Agency for health insurance (ANAM) and the partners concerned.

Chaired by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Aït Taleb, the workshop is part of the optimal implementation of the various aspects of the social protection project, particularly in terms of generalization of coverage. medical services to all citizens, while guaranteeing beneficiaries fair and safe access to health services and strengthening the harmonization of national medical practices, indicates a press release from the MSPS.

This meeting was an opportunity to present, discuss and approve the fourteen therapeutic protocols relating to the reasons for prescribing a caesarean section, early bacterial infections in newborns, diabetes, breast cancer, cancer cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, thyroid cancer, bladder cancer, in addition to colorectal cancer, cancer stomach cancer and psoriasis.

Therapeutic protocols are among the most important mechanisms for harmonizing professional practices and making it possible to improve access, in complete safety, to quality health services, to rationalize medical prescriptions and the use of therapeutic resources in the public and private sectors, the statement said, noting that these protocols, as well as other mechanisms, also contribute to the control and supervision of compulsory basic health insurance by strengthening the medical control of expenditure with a view to preserve the balance of medical coverage schemes.

This meeting took place in the presence of the Secretary General of the Ministry, the Minister’s Chief of Staff, the Director General of ANAM, the directors of the University Hospitals, the representative of the National Order of Physicians, the coordinators of the working groups themes, executives and managers of the ministry’s central administration.

It was marked by the participation, by video-conference, of the president of the Moroccan Society of Medical Sciences in addition to doctors and national experts in the specialties covered by this workshop.
