Akhannouch visits 3 health centers in Benslimane, Mohammedia and Rabat

The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, accompanied the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khaled Ait Taleb, made this Monday, January 30, a field visit to 3 health centers.

The Department of the Head of Government specifies that the visit concerns a rural health center around Benslimane and two urban health centers in the cities of Mohammedia and Rabat, after their rehabilitation and equipment during the year 2022 as part of the government plan aimed at improving and extending the healthcare offer, in application of royal instructions.

The rehabilitation of these health centers and the improvement of the quality of services provided to citizens is in line with the obligations of the government which succeeded in rehabilitating 100 local health centers during the first year of its mandate, with the objective of reaching 1,400 centers, it is specified.

The rehabilitated health centers have been provided with modern and cutting-edge biomedical means and equipment, as well as the necessary human resources in order to meet the growing needs of citizens in terms of basic health services and to ensure the proximity of these structures to the population. Thus, these health centers contribute to greater territorial and social equity in patient access to health services.

This visit, it is further underlined, reflects the importance that the government attaches to facilitating citizens’ access to quality health services, within the framework of the national health system reform project, which is part of the deployment of the royal vision which aims at a radical and profound reform of the national health system as well as the generalization of health and social coverage, in order to consolidate the foundations of the social State.

In parallel with its efforts to strengthen the health supply, and in accordance with royal directives, the government is also committed to providing health centers with human capital, in response to the growing needs of citizens in the field of basic health services.

Thus, on the one hand, the government is working to organize the course of care, motivating health professionals to work in the public sector, in addition to improving their deployment in various regions of the Kingdom in order to fight against medical deserts and also in order to lighten the load on the CHUs.

On the other hand, it aims to increase the number of qualified doctors and nurses by 20% in 2023, with a view to reaching 100% in 2026, with more than 90,000 workers in the health sector.

It should be noted that the government has an integrated vision of the reform of the national health system, based on four fundamental pillars which are: the adoption of good governance concerned with strengthening the regulatory mechanisms, the supervision of the action of operators and the strengthening of hospital governance, the territorial planning of the health offer, the motivation of professionals in the sector and the improvement of reception areas, as well as the digitization of the health system, in order to ensure regular monitoring of the care pathway of citizens at its various stages.

As a reminder, Akhannouch and Ait Taleb were accompanied during these visits, in Rabat by Mohamed Yacoubi, Wali of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region and governor of the prefecture of Rabat, Asmae Arhlalou, Mayor of the city of Rabat, in Mohammedia de Hicham M’dghari Alaoui, governor of the prefecture of Mohammedia, and in Benslimane of Samir Al Yazidi, governor of the province.
