The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, represented King Mohammed VI at the investiture ceremony of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Sunday.

After attending the solemn investiture ceremony of the new Brazilian Head of State and his Vice-President, Geraldo José Rodrigues de Alckmin Filho, organized at the headquarters of the Congress, Akhannouch was received at the Palacio Planalto, seat of the executive power, by Lula Da Silva and his vice-president.

King Mohammed VI sent a congratulatory message to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on his election, expressing “His consideration for the relations of solid friendship and fruitful cooperation in all areas uniting the Kingdom of Morocco and the Federal Republic of Brazil, and assuring of His willingness to work together with Lula da Silva to consecrate the multidimensional strategic partnership between the two countries”.

Lula Da Silva had previously been President of the Republic of Brazil between 2003 and 2010.
