Foot: 18 arrests after violence between supporters of Khrouribga and AS FAR

Eighteen people were arrested for their alleged involvement in acts of vandalism on Saturday in Khouribga during a Botola match, Moroccan police announced on Sunday.

The incidents erupted during a match counting for the 12th day, won 2-0 by AS FAR Rabat against Olympique de Khouribga.

The suspects, including two minors, were arrested after “clashes” between supporters inside the stadium which degenerated into “throwing stones”, injuring twelve in the ranks of the police, said the DGSN (national police) in a press release.

A judicial inquiry has been opened, added the police, which does not specify whether there were any injuries among the supporters and does not mention possible material damage.

On Tuesday, the FRMF also announced that it had sanctioned several clubs, ranging from simple fines to matches without an audience, following incidents.
