Morocco, a major player in the organization of international sporting events

Leading a proactive policy for the organization of major international sporting events, Morocco has established itself as a privileged destination for hosting large-scale sporting events, requiring quality infrastructure, know-how and good organization.

The continental and world sports events that Morocco has hosted have made it possible to highlight the quality of the high-level infrastructures available to the Kingdom and the aspects related to the organization, such as security, logistics and accommodation.

The Kingdom has thus succeeded in convincing the International Football Federation, FIFA, to host the next edition of the Club World Cup, scheduled for February 1 to 11, 2023. A decision announced by the president of the world football body , Gianni Infantino, after the meeting of the FIFA executive committee, held Friday, December 16 in Doha, Qatar, on the sidelines of the 2022 World Cup.

This choice was justified by the scale and quality of the sports infrastructure available to Morocco, and its accumulated experience in organizing this event twice in a row, in 2013 and 2014.

The success of the two previous editions hosted by Morocco at all levels, as confirmed by FIFA officials, has once again convinced the body to renew its confidence in Morocco to organize the 2023 edition.

With the brilliant organization of other sporting events, such as the Women’s African Cup of Nations, the Mohammed VI International Athletics Meeting and the 10th round of the Formula E World Championship, the Kingdom is further consolidating in addition its positioning on the map of international sporting events.
