Morocco and Saudi Arabia sign a memorandum of understanding for cooperation

Morocco and Saudi Arabia signed, on Wednesday in Riyadh, a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the cultural field, in recognition of the ties of friendship between the two countries, and their desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation in matter in accordance with the laws and regulations in force in both countries.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, and the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, on the sidelines of the 23rd session of the Conference of Ministers in charge of culture in the Arab world.

This memorandum aims to strengthen cooperation between the two parties in the cultural fields, in particular those related to heritage, architecture and design, museums, visual arts, theater and performing arts, literature and publishing, fashion, culinary arts, film and music.

It also covers the exchange of participation in festivals and cultural events between the two countries, the facilitation of all the procedures necessary for this purpose, and the exchange of experiences with regard to the implementation of the agreements of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The two parties have also agreed to work on the implementation of the areas of cooperation mentioned in this memorandum through the exchange of official delegations and experts of specialists in several cultural fields, the establishment of training programs, working sessions, capacity building and the holding of seminars for specialists, intellectuals and artists from both countries.
