FIFA: RSB ordered to pay more than 5 MDH to Patrick Henry Kaddu

The former player of the Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RSB), the Ugandan Patrick Henry Kaddu, ended up winning his case. Seized by Kaddou, FIFA heavily sanctioned the RSB which will have to pay him the tidy sum of some 5 million dirhams (MDH) to settle the contractual dispute between them.

For the record, Patrick Henry Kaddu arrived in August 2019 at the Oriental club, under a contract which runs until June 30, 2023 for a total compensation of 5.04 MDH which he was to receive on several slices.

The RSB had also undertaken to pay the player a housing allowance of around 4,000 dirhams, and had signed an amendment to the contract to convert the 5.04 MDH allowance into fixed remuneration according to the following scheme:

The first is around 1.5 million DH during the 2020-2021 season. The second relating to the 2021-2022 season is around 1.68 million DH. The third relating to the year 2022-2023 amounts to 1.86 million DH. The club has also agreed to pay the player . The two parties have concluded an appendix to the contract in which the said parties have amended clause 5 of the contract insofar as the variable remuneration payable, of , the club undertaking to pay the said amount to the player as follows:

– 500,000 DH no later than August 31, 2020.
– 500,000 DH no later than January 31, 2021.
– 500,000 DH no later than March 31, 2021.
– 560,000 DH no later than August 31, 2021.
– 560,000 DH no later than January 31, 2022.
– 560,000 DH no later than March 31, 2022.
– 620,000 DH no later than August 31, 2022.
– 620,000 DH no later than January 31, 2023.
– 620,000 DH no later than March 31, 2023.

But the RSB did not respect its commitments and the player did not hesitate to bring the case before the international body which decided in his favor, condemning the club to pay him the sums stopped in addition to their increases, under penalty FIFA sanctions, namely:
– 1,257,626 DH and $15,000 in arrears of remuneration plus annual interest of 5% from November 3, 2021 until the date of payment.
– 4,090,000 DH compensation for breach of contract, plus annual interest of 5% from November 3 until the date of payment.
