Week in the red for the Casablanca Stock Exchange

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the week of November 7 to 11, 2022 in the red, its main index, the Masi, dropping 3.59% to 10,355.27 points.

The Morocco Stock Index 20 (MSI20), which reflects the price performance of the 20 most liquid companies, lost 4.03% to 824.73 points, and the Casablanca ESG 10, the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) benchmark index. ), fell 3.36% to 769.14 points.

Since the start of the year, these three indices have posted negative performances of -22.48%, -24.04% and -22.93% respectively. At the end of this week, one sector was stable while only one sector of the 23 represented on the Casablanca coast finished in the green.

This is the mining sector with a slight increase of 0.02%. On the losing side, the engineering and industrial capital goods sector (-12.74%) recorded the largest decline of the week, followed by transport services (-8.26%) and telecommunications (-7 ,24%).

The overall volume of trade amounted to more than 750.38 million dirhams (MDH), including 750.17 MDH made on the central market (shares) and 204,377 dirhams on the transfer market.

On the podium of the most active stocks are Itissalat Al-Maghrib with a transaction volume of 134.90 MDH, Sodep-Marsa Maroc (126.624 MDH) and Attijariwafa Bank (115.214 MDH). Market capitalization amounted to 537.94 billion dirhams.

On the stock side, the best performances of the week were the work of Afric Industries SA (2.59%), Cartier Saada (2.3%), SMI (2.17%), Auto Hall (1.52%) and Timar (1.22%). Conversely, the largest declines were recorded by Delattre Levivier Maroc (-23.25%), TGCC SA (-9.41%), Stokvis Nord Afrique (-9.37%), Sodep-Marsa Maroc ( -8.26%) and Promopharm SA (-7.46%).
