Transfers from Moroccans living abroad up 11.6% at the end of September 2022

The Office des Changes indicated that transfers from Moroccans residing abroad (MRE) reached more than 80.8 billion dirhams (MMDH) for the first nine months of this year, against nearly 72.4 billion dirhams. during the same period a year earlier.

In its recent monthly indicators of foreign trade, the Office specifies that these transfers thus posted an increase of 11.6% compared to the end of September 2021.

These indicators, it is also underlined, also show that travel receipts, under the effect of the recovery, more than doubled from 24.9 billion dirhams at the end of September 2021 to 62.23 billion dirhams at the end of September 2022.

These revenues are up by 136.3% compared to the same period of 2020 and exceed the level reached at the end of September 2019 (60.15 billion dirhams). Expenses, meanwhile, stand at 11.92 billion dirhams. This level remains lower than those recorded in 2018 (14.28 billion dirhams) and in 2019 (15.95 billion dirhams), years before the covid-19 crisis.

Thus, the excess travel balance almost tripled, standing at +50.3 billion dirhams at the end of September 2022 against only +17.36 billion dirhams a year earlier.
