During his speech on Friday in Sharm el-Sheikh to the participants of COP27, US President Joe Biden warned of the climate crisis which threatens “the very life of the planet”.

War in Ukraine
The American president also said that the Russian offensive in Ukraine has made the need to get out of the use of fossil fuels even more urgent.
“The Russian-led war only reinforces the urgency for the world to emerge from its reliance on fossil fuels,” Biden said.
And to add that “to win this fight, each country among the main emitters must align itself with +1.5°C”.
It should be noted that the US President made a brief stopover in Egypt for the Conference, before going to Cambodia for a summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), then to Indonesia for a summit of G20.
