The technical committee of the project takes stock

The technical committee of the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline project, comprising representatives of the oil companies of Senegal, Mauritania and Nigeria, ECOWAS and Morocco, met from November 7 to 11 in Rabat to make the update on the progress of this strategic project.

A statement from the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM) indicates in this regard that presentations on various themes were made, on this occasion, by renowned international firms involved in the project.

In this context, adds ONHYM, a visit was organized on Wednesday to the premises of the Office in Tangier within the facilities of the Maghreb Europe Gas Pipeline, to which the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline will be connected, with a view to exporting part of the gas to Europe.

Similarly, a presentation of the operations was made by the teams of ONHYM, which today ensures the transport of gas purchased internationally, unloaded in Spain and conveyed to Morocco in Reverse Flow.

The delegations to this meeting, which comes the day after the royal speech on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the Green March where an important part was devoted to this initiative, expressed their satisfaction with the progress of the project and welcomed the King’s leadership and his commitment to bringing this strategic project to fruition in the interest of the West African sub-region.
