The Loukkos Agropole should generate an induced investment of 3.5 billion dirhams

The Loukkos Agropole should generate an induced investment of 3.5 billion dirhams (MMDH), underlined the company MedZ, responsible for carrying out the project.

Requiring an overall budget of 457 million dirhams (MDH), the Loukkos Agropole should, in the long term, generate an induced investment of 3.5 billion dirhams and allow the creation of nearly 7,500 jobs in the region, specified MedZ, subsidiary of the Caisse de depot et de gestion (CDG) group, in a press release.

The kick-off of the works for the realization of the first phase of the Loukkos Agropole was given on Sunday in the commune of Zouada, under the province of Larache, in the presence of the Wali of the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, Mohamed Mhidia, the president of the Regional Council, Omar Moro, the governor of the province, Bouassam El Alamine, and several institutional partners, elected officials, and presidents of professional chambers.

This project is supported by MedZ, given its expertise in the industrial infrastructure sector, in partnership with the Regional Council and Crédit Agricole du Maroc (CAM), within the framework of a dedicated company which will ensure the development, promotion , marketing and management.

This event was an opportunity to present the progress of this structuring project, which aims to support the development dynamics of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region.

The work launched concerns the development of the 1st phase, covering an area of ​​50 hectares, the delivery of which is scheduled for 2023, noted the same source.

Regarding marketing, MedZ is confident in the ability of the Loukkos Agropole to mobilize a large number of actors affiliated with the agro-industrial sector, which would make this project a real regional platform of reference for the grouping, marketing , processing and distribution of agricultural products.

Indeed, about fifty investors have already expressed their interest in setting up in the area, in activities such as fruit and vegetable processing, support activities, such as packaging industries, as well as other food industries, the statement said.
