Ramed beneficiaries will switch to AMO on December 1 (government)

As of December 1, people benefiting from the Medical Assistance Scheme for the Economically Deprived (RAMED) will join the basic Compulsory Health Insurance (AMO) dedicated to people unable to pay the membership fees.

The Council of Government has decided to integrate RAMED beneficiaries into AMO from the beginning of December, according to a draft decree adopted on Thursday. It will enable 22 million additional people to benefit from compulsory health insurance.

During the press briefing after the government council meeting, the government spokesman, Mustapha Baitas, indicated that the draft decree sets the procedure for periodic verification of the eligibility of insured persons and the period during which they may benefit from the benefits of the plan.

It is also specified the contribution rate and the conditions for targeting beneficiaries whose membership fees will be paid by the government to the CNSS.

“The government has mobilized all means and put in place various procedures to ensure the generalization of medical coverage, as of December 1, 2022,” said the head of government Aziz Akhannouch.

The Head of Government also praised the great work accomplished by all stakeholders in the implementation of the generalization of medical coverage, in accordance with the timetable set by the King, underlined the spokesman of the government, Mustapha Baitas, quoting Aziz Akhannouch.
