Qatar 2022: Portugal beat Uruguay (2-0) to qualify for the 8th

Portugal ensured its qualification for the round of 16 of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, beating Uruguay (2-0), this Monday, November 28 at Lusail Stadium on behalf of the second day of Group H.

The Portuguese goals were scored by Bruno Fernandes at 54′ and 90’+3 (sp).

The first goal was initially awarded to Cristiano Ronaldo, but FIFA eventually gave it to Bruno Fernandes

Indeed, a doubt remained for a while about the identity of the striker. Cristiano Ronaldo seemed to have slightly deflected the center of Bruno Fernandes and thus deceived Rochet, the doorman of Celeste. But it looks like he didn’t deviate the ball’s trajectory in the end.

After this victory, Portugal, which now has 6 points on the clock, ensures its qualification for the 8th finals.

It is followed by Ghana (3 points) then Uruguay and Korea (1 point).

Uruguay will play for survival in their third match and will absolutely have to beat Ghana, hoping for a favorable result in the other match between Portugal and South Korea.
