Najat Vallaud Belkacem ready to help improve Morocco-France relations

The former French minister of Moroccan origin, Najat Vallaud Belkacem, expressed her willingness to be “useful” to bring Morocco and France closer together, which are currently going through a cold period.

“I think that we all have an interest in having very good relations with each other, and in any case if I can be useful for that I will do it with pleasure”, affirmed Vallaud Belkacem In a statement to MoroccoLatestNewsFR.

“I hope that relations between France and Morocco will continue to have the same quality that they have always traditionally had,” she said, adding that there are countries on both sides, “ agents of goodwill who ensure that peoples talk to each other, that cultures talk to each other and that governments also talk to each other more”.

The former French minister, who was speaking on the sidelines of the MEDays Forum organized in Tangier, reaffirmed Morocco’s “absolutely strategic” position.

“It (Morocco) is in a strategic position between Europe and Africa with diplomatic, economic and even important academic ambitions,” she stressed, referring to the need to continue the dialogue between the two countries.
