Instagram bug: millions of users have their accounts suspended

Instagram on Monday reported login difficulties experienced by users who had their accounts suspended for no apparent reason.

The platform indicated on its Twitter account to be aware of the problem, stressing that it is working to remedy it.

On Twitter, where the hashtag #Instagramdown is trending, many users have reported having their accounts suspended for allegedly not following the community guidelines.

The collaborative site Downdetector, which lists outage reports around the world, has put the number of incidents at several thousand. A similar incident occurred on September 22 without the platform explaining the reasons.

This global outage comes less than a week after the outage of another Meta Group giant, WhatsApp, which affected billions of users worldwide.
