The talks, on the sidelines of the fifth edition of the Paris Peace Forum, focused on monitoring the application of the roadmap and the holding of the high-level meeting between our two countries early next year. . A tweet that for his part the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs confirmed a few minutes later by indicating on his Twitter account “Good meeting with Nasser Bourita to advance the development of the roadmap and the high-level meeting”.

The latter, which was adopted last April during the meeting in Rabat between King Mohammed VI and the President of the Spanish government, Pedro Sanchez, it should be remembered, said in this case: “ Spain recognizes the importance of the Sahara issue for Morocco as well as Morocco’s serious and credible efforts within the framework of the United Nations to find a mutually acceptable solution. As such, Spain considers the Moroccan autonomy initiative, presented in 2007, as the most serious, realistic and credible basis for resolving this dispute..Subjects of common interest will be treated in a spirit of trust, in consultation, far from unilateral acts or accomplished facts..

It was about the full normalization of the movement of people and goods at land and sea level since restored, just like Operation Marhaba or OPE (paso del estrecho). There was also talk of the delimitation of maritime areas on the Atlantic seaboard, work on which a commission from the two countries has already begun, air space, cooperation in the field of immigration, the reactivation of cooperation sectoral in areas of common interest: such as economic, commercial, energy, industrial, cultural, education, vocational training, higher education, etc.

The high-level meeting which is of strategic importance for the two Kingdoms is expected for the beginning of the coming financial year, a date should be fixed in consultation shortly, if it has not already been done while waiting for it to be officially unveiled. . This is not the first time that the two ministers have met on the sidelines of an event such as during the 77th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York where the two Heads of Diplomacy of Morocco and Spain had expressed their complete satisfaction with bilateral relations.
