Moroccan international Amine Harit, injured on Sunday evening during the match against AS Monaco on Sunday evening, is suffering from “a sprained cruciate ligaments” in his left knee, announced his club Olympique de Marseille.

“Medical examinations are in progress to offer him the care adapted to his injury. The player will follow an appropriate care protocol,” his club said in a statement.

Summoned by national coach Walid Regragui for the World Cup in Qatar, the presence of midfielder Amine Harit on the pitch is not guaranteed, just four days after the announcement of his summons and his joy shared on social networks.

“Olympique de Marseille wishes Amine a speedy recovery and hopes to see him on the pitch as soon as possible,” added his club, which did not mention the duration of his absence.

On Sunday, Amin Harit came off the pitch on a stretcher during the game against Monaco. His coach Igor Tudor then spoke of “a very big injury” one week before the start of the World Cup.
