Automotive sector exports amounted to 77.68 billion dirhams (MMDH) for the first nine months of this year, up 34.9% compared to the end of September 2021, according to the Foreign Exchange Office.
These exports reached their highest level during the same period in the last five years, indicates the Office which has just published its recent monthly indicators of foreign trade. This increase concerned sales in the construction segment (+56.2%) and those in the cabling segment (+20.8%), specifies the same source, noting that, on the other hand, exports of the vehicle interiors and seats remained almost stable.
Regarding sales of phosphates and derivatives, they increased by 66.6% to more than 91.8 billion dirhams, following the increase in exports of natural and chemical fertilizers (+28.523 billion dirhams) due to the price effect which more than doubled (8,749 DH/T at the end of September 2022 against 4,330 DH/T at the end of September 2021).
At the same time, exports of the agriculture and agri-food sector stood at more than 61.36 billion dirhams at the end of September 2022, up 20.8% compared to the same period of 2021. This development is explained by the simultaneous increase sales of the food industry (+22.4%) and those of agriculture, forestry and hunting (+18.5%).
For their part, exports of textiles and leather increased by 26.7%, due to the improvement in sales of ready-made clothing (+28.8%), knitwear (+19.6%) and shoes (+29.9%).
