Brazil qualified for the round of 16 by beating Switzerland in extremis (1-0)

Brazil beat Switzerland, in their second match in the 2022 World Cup, this Monday, November 28, winning with difficulty 1 goal to 0. A victory which allows them to qualify for the 8th.

Without their star Neymar, Brazil started their match ready to confirm their status as favorites and already gave chills in the Swiss box from the first minutes with a free kick from Richarlison which found no takers in the box.

Switzerland, under pressure, also got a few chances during this first half hour of play. The Swiss notably tried a combination to surprise the Brazilians, but Vargas’ cross was easily cleared by the Seleção.

The two nations return to the locker room back to back. The most frank actions were Brazilian but the Nati did not tremble.

After 66 minutes of play, Brazil managed to conclude after a goal from Vinicius Jr. A realization which will be refused by the VAR for offside. The counters are reset, redealing the cards for both selections.

An offside that did not destabilize the Brazilians who were able to count on Casimero to take the lead in the 83rd minute, scoring a nice goal from a pass from Vinicius Jr.

Brazil therefore qualified by doing what was necessary, without offering a vibrant match to their supporters.
