For the FFS, Algeria needs of “a real political elite capable of carrying out a real social project”, explaining that “the profound changes, against a background of concerns and uncertainties, at the same time political, economic and social, require the structuring of strong mediations within society”.
Such an orientation could contribute to the fight against “authoritarianism, depoliticization, populisms and extremisms”believes the same source, adding that the latest geopolitical upheavals in the world, “require us to redouble our efforts in our quest for change in our country”.
For the FFS, the change which Algeria “urgently” needs and which “is slow to be implemented”, can only be achieved “with the free and conscious adherence of our compatriots”.
During a press conference, the first national secretary of the FFS, Youcef Aouchiche, denounced the “ultra-secure” management of state affairs, believing that this approach will not allow Algeria to develop, to modernize, nor to the country to democratize or establish the change hoped for and expected by millions of compatriots”.
And to call in this context for the immediate and unconditional release of prisoners of conscience, stressing that the place of those who defend a political opinion and of journalists “is in society with their compatriots to do their job”.
