AIVAM: Car sales down 6.92% compared to October 2021

The Association of Vehicle Importers in Morocco (AIVAM), reported that sales of new cars in Morocco stood at 134,001 units at the end of October 2022, down 6.92% compared to the same period of the year. ‘last year.

It thus emerges from the monthly statistics of the AIVAM that by segment, the number of new registrations of private vehicles (PV) amounted to 118,990 units for the first ten months of this year, down 5.7%, while that of light commercial vehicles (VUL) amounted to 15,011 units (-15.56%).

The “Dacia” brand dominates the passenger car segment, with a market share of 27.3%, i.e. 32,484 units sold at the end of October 2022, followed by Renault which sold 17,673 units (market share of 14.85%) and Hyundai (11,808 units and 9.92% market share), notes the same source.

In the LCV segment, Renault sold 3,776 units (25.15% market share), ahead of DFSK, which sold 2,183 vehicles (14.54% market share) and Ford with 1,687 units (11.24% market share). % market share).

On the premium side, Audi increased its sales by 2.48% to 3,185 cars to reach a market share of 2.68%, ahead of BMW (2,351 units and a market share of 1.98%) and Mercedes (2,064 units and a market share of 1.98%). a market share of 1.73%).

For its part, Porsche sold 274 units, up 15.3%, while Jaguar sales fell 4.92% to 116 cars. For the month of October alone, AIVAM notes an increase in overall sales of 6.21% to 13,096 units. In detail, the VP segment recorded an increase of 6.61% with 11,277 units sold, and the LCV of 3.82% to 1,819 units.
