AHIF: Fatim-Zahra Ammor stresses the strategic role of tourism investment

The Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, takes part in the 2022 edition of the African Hospitality Investment Forum (AHIF), which is being held from November 2 to 4 in Taghazout.

Speaking at this event, which is being held face-to-face after several virtual editions, the Minister reminded investors and major players in national and international tourism that there has never been a better context for investing in tourism in Morocco, due to the impetus given to the various stakeholders to boost private investment, as well as the launch of the new investment charter.

This supportive framework, she said, will strengthen the dynamics of public programs and their impact on the attractiveness of our country for private investors. Among the public programs already launched, we find those relating to the city of Agadir and the Taghazout station, including the increase in litter capacity, as well as the facelift of the bay of Agadir, the development of the Anchor zone, renowned for its surfing potential or the programs to promote seaside resorts.

After stressing the strategic role that public and private tourism investment will have to play for the development of the sector and for achieving the vision of doubling the number of arrivals by 2030, Fatim-Zahra Ammor indicated that in Within the framework of this ambitious vision commensurate with the tourist potential and the attractiveness of Morocco as a destination, the concerted roadmap for the sector will place investment at the heart of development, alongside the strengthening of air transport and the structuring of the offer.

The investment strategy will focus on the priority levers for the development and transformation of the sector. Priority will be given to upgrading the existing litter capacity and strengthening it in several regions in order to make them real tourist destinations, but also to entertainment projects (sports, cultural or leisure), catering, or tourist services.

It should be noted that this unmissable professional meeting is a platform for promoting tourist investment, a major lever for the attractiveness of destinations and the development of tourism. More than 300 participants from more than 30 countries attended.
