In its note on the situation of the labor market in the third quarter of 2022, the High Commission for Planning (HCP) indicates that five (5) regions are home to 73.2% of all active people aged 15 and over. .
It thus emerges that the region of Casablanca-Settat comes in first position with 22.4% of assets, followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (13.8%), Marrakech-Safi (13.3%), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (12%) and Fez-Meknes (11.7%), specifies the HCP.
In addition, four regions show higher activity rates than the national average (44%), namely Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (49.9%), Casablanca-Settat (46.6%), Marrakech -Safi (45.2%) and Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (44.4%). On the other hand, the lowest rates are recorded in the regions of Béni Mellal-Khénifra (40.9%), Drâa-Tafilalet (38.5%) and Souss-Massa (37.7%).
In addition, the note notes that almost seven out of ten unemployed people (69.4%) are concentrated in five regions, namely Casablanca-Settat (24.6%), followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (13.6%), Fez-Meknes (13.4%), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (9.3%) and Oriental (8.5%).
The highest unemployment rates are observed in the South (21%) and Oriental (14.6%) regions. With less acuity, four other regions exceed the national average (11.4%) namely Fez-Meknes (13%), Casablanca-Settat (12.5%), Souss-Massa (11.7%) and Beni Mellal Khenifra (11.6%). The regions of Drâa-Tafilalet, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima and Marrakech-Safi recorded, on the other hand, the lowest rates with respectively 10%, 8.8% and 6.9%.
