Wydad de Casablanca advance to the group stage after a big win against Rivers United FC

Defending champions Wydad de Casablanca qualified for the group stage of the African Football Champions League after beating Nigerian side Rivers United FC 6-0 on Sunday night at the Mohammed V sports complex in Casablanca, in the second leg of the second preliminary round.

The goals of the match were scored by Ayoub El Amloud (32nd), Yahya Jabrane (44th and 69th, sp), Bouly Sambou (49th, 56th) and Hamid Ahadad (90th).

The Nigerian club, which ended the match with ten after the expulsion of its goalkeeper Mutawakilu Seidu (39th), won the first leg by 2 goals to 1.

With this success, the Moroccan clubs engaged on the African scene achieved a full house, after the qualification the day before of Raja de Casablanca in the group stage of the Champions League thanks to its victory, on the lawn of the same ground, by 1 goal to 0 against ASN Nigelec of Niger (Raja victory in the first leg 2-0).

In the CAF Cup, AS FAR easily validated its ticket for the 2nd additional preliminary round of the competition, beating the Guinean team of Ashanti Golden Boys (1-0).

The military club had largely won in the first leg at home (4-0).

For its part, the Renaissance of Berkane reached the next round of the CAF Cup, after its victory (2-0) against Kwara United FC of Nigeria.

The Orange club thus succeeded in turning the tide after its defeat (3-1), on the way to Lagos.
