WhatsApp crash: Connection restored

The American group Meta (ex-facebook) said on Tuesday that it had resolved the global outage that affected WhatsApp instant messaging since 8:00 a.m. “We know people had trouble messaging on WhatsApp today,” a spokesperson for Meta said. “We have resolved the issue and apologize for any inconvenience,” he said.

Indeed, the “DownDetector” outage detector has reported that WhatsApp has been experiencing problems since 8:00 am.

Also, thousands of users around the world have testified on the various social networks that they cannot connect to the application, send and receive messages for more than two hours. The #whatsappdown hashtag has been a trending topic on Twitter.

The cause of the failure has not yet been specified.

The various applications of the Meta group have already been victims of an unprecedented giant outage last year.
