Unesco: A special event on the Arabic language, from October 24 to 25 in Rabat

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) will organize, from October 24 to 25 in Rabat, a special event entitled “The Arabic language, beyond the heritage”, in tribute to the contribution of language and its future impact.

In an announcement on its website, the UN Organization notes that “language is the means available to humanity to communicate, transmit and generate thoughts, ideas and concepts. As Arabic is one of the most widely spoken languages ​​in the world, its reach and importance are constantly expanding across continents and cultures”.

The two-day event coincides with United Nations Day (October 24) and UNESCO’s preparations for the 10th anniversary of the celebration of World Arabic Language Day (December 18), it said. source.

It will underline the determining role of Arabic in the elaboration of new perspectives of knowledge throughout the world and in the promotion of dialogue as well as mutual understanding.

And to recall that the event organized in partnership with the Moroccan National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, will be held in the premises of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of the University Mohammed V of Rabat, where academics, researchers, artists and young people will discuss the initiatives implemented by Unesco within the framework of the “Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud” program aimed at strengthening the use of the Arabic language at Unesco.
