The senior Emirati official was also received on the same day by Lieutenant General Belkhir El Farouk, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, on the instructions of the King, Supreme Leader and Head of FAR General Staff.

During this meeting, which took place in the presence of the General Officers concerned of the EMG of the FAR, the Inspector General of the FAR and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates discussed various subjects relating to the cooperation of the FAR and the Emirati Armed Forces, in particular the operational component.

The two officials also welcomed the level of this cooperation, while reiterating their desire to strengthen it even more in accordance with the supreme will of the leaders of the two brotherly countries, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Morocco.

In this sense, the two officials agreed on the strengthening of bilateral military training or in a multilateral framework, through their participation in large-scale exercises, like “African Lion”.

As a reminder, cooperation between the FAR and the Emirati Armed Forces dates back to 1980, the year of the signing of the first military agreement. It was reinforced by the framework agreement signed in May 2006.
