The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Wednesday the reopening of the bidding process for the organization of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations 2025 (CAN 2025).

CAF President Patrice Motsepe announced the withdrawal from Guinea of ​​the organization of CAN 2025, explaining that “as it stands, the infrastructure and equipment are not adapted or ready for CAF to accommodate the CAN in 2025 in Guinea”.

Member Associations have received an invitation to express their interest in hosting the competition, along with details of the process for selecting the host country or countries, CAF said on its website, setting the deadline for submitting the declaration form. interest as of November 11.

November 16 is the deadline for CAF to send application documents to member associations that have shown interest, the same source added.

Member associations will have until December 16 to submit the final offer, which includes all bidding and organizing documents (hosting agreement, agreement with host cities, government guarantees), CAF continued, noting that inspection visits will take place between 05 and 25 January 2023.

The host country will be designated on February 10, 2023 by the CAF Executive Committee, the same source concluded.
