Morocco, represented by the Moroccan racing driver, Michaël Benyahia, will participate in the “FIA Motorsport Games”, scheduled in Marseille and regions from October 26 to 30, with Optimum Motorsport.
Present for the first time at this event, Morocco will field Michaël Benyahia in GT Sprint on the Paul-Ricard circuit.
The 22-year-old, who was Formula Renault 2.0 NEC champion with R-ace GP in 2017, will be driving an Optimum Motorsport McLaren GT3 720S in the colors of the Kingdom.
“We are delighted to return to the Motorsport Games, and this time as Team Morocco,” said Optimum Motorsport team principal Shaun Goff, as quoted in a statement from Optimum.
And to add: “We are looking forward to working with Michaël again, he has been great this month in GT Open, we are delighted to see what he can do this time around”.
Postponed twice due to the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19), the second FIA Motorsport Games will take place this year on the Paul Ricard circuit, Autocross Veynois and Sainte Baume.
Nicknamed the Motorsport Olympics, this multidisciplinary event offers endurance, GT, e-sport, karting and rally events.
