Emerging economies, like Morocco, offer significant yield and profitability prospects to international investors, said the president of Spain’s National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), Rodrigo Buenaventura.
“International investors are keen to seek out investment opportunities in developing countries because of the long-term prospects for returns and profitability that these countries can offer”said Rodrigo Buenaventura on the occasion of the International Conference organized by the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC) on the sidelines of the 47th annual meeting of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) from October 17 to 19 in Marrakech.
And to emphasize that the economic development of emerging countries is very closely linked to the ability to finance the economy, hence the need to establish a suitable regulatory framework for this foreign capital which is in line with the needs of developing economies. which are based on social issues, green transition and carbon neutrality.
It is only by matching development imperatives and investor preferences that the investment chain of a country like Morocco and many others will be able to take advantage of this investment flow that is both global but which can actually help and promote local economies, he explained.
Furthermore, Buenaventura highlighted the strong links between the Spanish and Moroccan capital markets, and between the supervisors of these capital markets, noting that the AMMC and the CNMV are closely engaged in bilateral technical and regulatory cooperation. and in a more global Mediterranean partnership.
