CPI for manufacturing industries up 0.1% in September

HCP: 0.1% rise in the CPI for manufacturing industries in September

The High Commission for Planning (HCP) indicated that the producer price index for the “Manufacturing industries excluding oil refining” sector rose by 0.1% in September 2022 compared to the previous month.

In its recent note on the Industrial, Energy and Mining Producer Price Index (IPPIEM), the HCP explains that this increase is the result of the 0.2% increase in “food industry” prices. and 0.1% from “Manufacture of rubber and plastic products”.

It is also explained by the 0.3% drop in prices for “Metallurgy”, 0.5% for “Woodworking and manufacture of wooden and cork articles” and 0.1% for ‘ “chemical industry” and “clothing industry”.

In addition, the producer price index for the “Extractive industries” sector increased by 0.2% during the month of September 2022.

The producer price indices for the “Electricity production and distribution” and “Water production and distribution” sectors stagnated during the month of September 2022.
